Coton Get Together on March 25, 2007, in Gottmadingen

After last year’s successful „over the border“ meeting with the German Coton de Tuléar Association in Au (SG), it was this time the CTV who issued an invitation to the CTCS.  The Landgasthof Wider in Gottmadingen-Bietingen, north of Schaffhausen but within Germany, proved to be another ideal location for such an event.  Nearly 40 people enjoyed a wonderful day, even with welcome sunshine after the many grey days of the week before.  After the aperitif and a pleasant luncheon (compliments to the kitchen brigade and the waitresses, who remained unfazed by all the cotons), we set off  to explore the surroundings and to digest our meal.  The path led us past a pond, which some of the cotons were unable to resist, and to the joy of their owners, sprang into the water.

Not much white coat was visible after that, but the main thing was that the dogs had a great time!

After the walk, we enjoyed a round of Sekt on the parking lot outside the restaurant, offered by Sebastian Broncel.  Thanks, Sebastian, the idea was super!

Then came the cake buffet, self-made.  Many thanks to those who brought the cakes!  Only late in the afternoon did the last guests say good-bye, proving that the afternoon had been more than successful!  If we may, we would very much like to meet another time at the Restaurant Wider in Bietingen.  It is easy to reach, both for Germans and Swiss, and the restaurant itself, as well as its surroundings, are truly excellent.

Coton Get-together, Restaurant Steinenbühl, Untersiggenthal,
January 21, 2007

For the first (and certainly not the last) time, we met at the Restaurant Steinenbühl in Untersiggenthal (near Baden) for a pleasant lunch. Some of the approx. 20 people had made a long journey to enjoy a relaxed afternoon together with their cotons.  In the diningroom which had been reserved exclusively for the occasion, the dogs were able to move about freely, explore their surroundings and play together. After the apperitive (including excellent Siggenthaler white wine), we enjoyed a fine meal.  A “digestive” stroll was the natural follow-up to lunch, at the end of which - despite the friendly weather - many cotons had to be washed back to their original white in the fountain and basin outdoors.  The storm of the previous days had left much debris in its wake.  With desserts and coffee our afternoon came to an end.  There had been much conversation and sharing of experiences, and many people expressed a desire to repeat such a get-together as soon as possible.  For this, the restaurant Steinenbühl provides an ideal setting.  Many thanks to Family Huber for their cordial welcome.
